The book was first published in 1964. It is the only one of the stories with the participation of Miss Marple, the action of which takes place outside of England. Sun, beach, palm trees: it seems that nothing can disturb the peace of one of the paradise islands in the Caribbean Sea, and the death of old Major Palgrave has only temporarily cast a shadow over the monotonous everyday life of vacationers. However, Miss Marple does not let go of the thought that there is a terrible secret behind the death of the major, and she will do everything to reveal it.
